Is It Worth Owning A Pen Fishing
Rod?
In the world of clever fishing gadgets comes an interesting item
called the Pen Fishing Rod. It is in fact, a fishing rod that is
shaped like an over-sized pen and converts into a small fishing
pole. At first a person may want to laugh and pass over such an
item, but careful review may reveal a place for this small angling
rod in your arsenal.
This telescoping alloy rod fits in nearly any small space, yet
when fully extended it can have the full range and motion of an
ultralight fishing rod. This makes the Pen Fishing Rod a nice rod
for ice fishing or any small tackle application that an ultralight
pole would be used in.
The size of this fishing rod makes travel with it easy. This rod
could in fact be a wise purchase if you are biking or hiking near
fishing waters. Having a fishing pole the size of a pen allows you
to travel light and unencumbered, while giving you an opportunity
to enjoy your travel method and still get some casting in before
days end.
Keep the Pen Fishing Rod in the glove box of your car or briefcase.
A quick lunch break near a stream, pond, or lake could afford you
an opportunity to catch a small mouth bass or two before heading
back to the office. The many uses of this small sized rod are limited
only by your imagination.
The construction of this fishing rod varies depending on which
manufacturer type you look at. Surprisingly for it's size, some
are made of solid materials like bronze reel snaps and even a brass-finished
reel. Also some manufacturers will even provide a small amount of
tackle that includes hooks, line, sinkers and bobber.
All in all I would have to say that a Pen Fishing Rod would be
a good rod to have on hand, when the intended use is a realistic
use. That is using the rod as an ultra-light pole and not a regular
sized rod. When used in this manner you can not only enjoy the various
situations that a small, telescoping rod is best used for, but you
can also have fun finding new situations you can use it in too. |
